Grey's Anatomy: Character Power Rankings

Grey's Anatomy is a show full of great characters. Really, that's what the show is about. A collection of great, dynamic, three-dimensional characters interacting. The cast is really something to behold. The diversity is the likes of which rarely seen on network television, yet it doesn't ever become a major issue on the program.
As long as you have a large cast, viewers are always going to pick favorites. They are also going to pick enemies. This is the beauty of ensemble television. However, the thing about Grey's Anatomy that is different in this regard is the wide ranging options of people to root for and against. There are no clear cut villains and there are no clear cut good guys. There are good arguments to be had regarding the pros and cons of every single character. How often does this come about?
One of the things that people tend to gripe about regarding Grey's Anatomy is the relative weakness of the titular character, Meredith Grey. I, for one, am a big fan of Meredith, but we have to be honest: she does have her detractors. She is very quirky, a little odd for the main protagonist. This, also, is something I love about Grey's Anatomy:
it has no problem playing its main character a little off-center.
Again, be able to root for a character one week and root against that same character the next week is a privilege rarely granted on prime time television. We should all relish it. I am continually amazed at the complex nature of the ins and outs of the characters. Cristina Yang can be unlikable one week and wholly sympathetic the next. Most would agree that she skews on the side of villain, but not in the conventional manner.
Grey's Anatomy is a show unlike any other with a cast unlike any other. It acts as a play, almost. A maze of connections and conflict between characters.
